My 18-year training journey truly began in 2007, the year I rescued Bart, a gallant yet peculiar one-year-old Standard Poodle. He was quite the handful—every behavior challenge imaginable, he seemed to possess! Yet, through dedicated effort, a path marked by both challenges and achievements, Bart's transformation was nothing short of remarkable. He lived a long, active, fun, fulfilling life to the incredible age of 16, which is long for a Standard Poodle. It was his incredible progress that inspired me to pursue my CCTBS Certified Canine Training and Behavior Specialist certification via The Animal Behavior Institute, and more recently my CACTP (Certified Advanced Canine Training Professional) certification. Others couldn't help but notice Bart's amazing turnaround, and soon, I found myself being hired to help their own beloved pups. Even now, I think of Bart every single day, seeing a bit of him in the sweet eyes of every dog I work with.
